Rahul Krishna Thomas has been named a Robert and Rosemarie Schrage Engineering Fellow, recognizing his academic excellence and research potential as an incoming Ph.D. student in the Department of Electrical Engineering. He will begin his doctoral studies in Spring 2026.
Thomas will be co-advised by Professors Micah Goldblum and Adam Block. His research will focus on developing efficient and trustworthy AI systems, including private and efficient inference for large language models—an area critical to the responsible deployment of AI technologies.
He earned his B.S. in Mathematics and M.S. in Computer Science from Stanford University, where he developed a strong foundation in both theoretical and applied computing.
“I’m honored to receive the fellowship, and grateful for the department’s support as I begin my Ph.D.,” Thomas said.
The Robert and Rosemarie Schrage Engineering Fellowship supports promising doctoral students as they pursue research at the forefront of engineering and technology.
