Professor Matthias Preindl has been elevated to the rank of Fellow by The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET).

I would like to acknowledge the contribution of the researchers and students at MPlab for the strong research achievements and the EE department for the support in creating the Smart Electric Energy research area and MS specialization," said Matthias.
This professional society has more than 168,000 members worldwide in 150 countries. It was formed in March 2006 by a merger of the Institution of Electrical Engineers (IEE) and the Institution of Incorporated Engineers (IIE). IET is headquartered in London, England and is made up from over forty predecessor organizations that can trace their history as far back as 1854 with the Society of Engineers (SoE).
