On June 5th, the Department of Electrical Engineering, in conjunction with the Dean’s Office, hosted a reunion luncheon as part of Dean’s Days Weekend 2009. The luncheon was attended by alumni from the classes of 1959 through 1989, as well as Golden Lions who graduated prior to 1959. After a warm welcome from our Chairman Shih-Fu Chang, Professor Yannis Tsividis gave a presentation about the department’s undergraduate curriculum and new academic programs. Research presentations followed by Professors Kinget, Shepard, and Zussman. The department was honored to have two emeriti join the festivities; Emeritus Mischa Schwartz and Emeritus Omar Wing were in attendance. Dean Navatril stopped in to welcome and greet the alumni. Our current student body was represented by a handful of juniors and seniors who provided useful insights and conversation with the alumni. Alumni enthusiastically provided input to help the Department plan future educational and research programs. Many alumni expressed their excitement and congratulated the school and the department for organizing a successful home-coming event for alumni.
Presentations were coordinated by Professor John Kymissis and Academic Programs Officer Azlyn Smith.
