Prof. Javad Lavaei Wins 2014 Resonate Award

Prof. Javad Lavaei has won the 2014 Resonate Award for his research into building a computational backbone to transform the power grid into one that is flexible, smart and dynamic. Prof. Lavaei spoke about his work at the award ceremony.

Administered by the Resnick Sustainability Institute at the California Institute for Technology, the Resonate Awards seek to draw attention to significant strides innovators are making in the grand challenges facing humanity, within the context of achieving global sustainability. These challenges include meeting the world's energy needs sustainably, providing water and food for a growing world population, providing a healthy environment, and improving people's access to the resources they need to live a productive life.
