Ph.D. Student Jun Wang Wins Google Global Intern Scholarship

Congratulations to Ph.D. student Jun Wang who has just been selected to receive the Google Global Intern Scholarship. The scholarship recipients will each receive a USD $10,000 award for the 2009-2010 academic year. The recipients are selected from the 2009 Google interns worldwide after a comprehensive review process which takes into consideration academic, internship and leadership accomplishments. Jun Wang is currently working with Prof. Shih-Fu Chang at Columbia University on research of image search, machine learning, and hybrid neural-computer vision systems. He worked as an intern in Google Research in NYC in the summer of 2009.
