IEEE Organizes a Visit to Brookhaven National Lab

On November 21st, 14 Columbia students attended a trip to the Brookhaven National Lab in Upton, New York.  The trip was organized by the Columbia Chapter of the IEEE and included students from several SEAS Departments including Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics and Applied Math, and Material Science.

Among the facilities the students were able to see, some highlights include:  the Instrumentation Division (including the first video game ever made), neutron detectors for low Z characterization, the Nanocenter, the National Synchrotron Light Source, and the Superconducting Magnet Division.
