Xin Zhang
Xin Zhang is a Research Staff Member at IBM T. J. Watson Research Center, Yorktown Heights, NY, since 2014. He has been an Adjunct Professor in the department of electrical engineering at Columbia University since 2021. Before joining IBM, he had experiences with the University of Tokyo, Tokyo, Japan, and the Institute of Microelectronics (IME), Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), Singapore, as a researcher and a scientist, respectively. He was also a visiting scholar at the University of California, Berkeley, CA, in 2012.
Dr. Zhang has authored or co-authored over 50 technical papers and has over 30 filed or issued patents. His research interests include analog circuits, power management ICs, DC-DC converters, AC-DC converters, power devices, magnetics, machine learning hardware/accelerators, computer system architecture, server system power delivery/packaging/cooling, and using AI for circuit design automation. He has served as a guest for IEEE Journal on Emerging and Selected Topics in Circuits and Systems (JETCAS) and IEEE Solid State Circuits Letters (SSC-L). He is currently serving as a Technical Program Committee member for the Applied Power Electronics Conference (APEC), the IEEE VLSI symposium on circuit, the IEEE Custom Integrated Circuits Conference (CICC), and IEEE International Solid-State Circuits Conference (ISSCC). He has been serving as an Organizing Committee Member for the IBM IEEE CAS/EDS – AI Compute Symposium since 2019. He has also been serving as a Technical Advisory Board member in the Analog-Mixed Signal Circuits, Systems, and Devices (AMS-CSD), Semiconductor Research Corporation (SRC) since 2019. He is a Senior Member of IEEE.
