Xiang Meng

Research Interest

Prof. Xiang (Alex) Meng is an Associate Professor of Professional Practice in Electrical Engineering at Columbia University. He earned his B.Sc/B.Eng from the University of Saskatchewan and his MS/PhD from Columbia. Previously, he was a Senior Staff Member at SubCom, contributing to the design of long-haul undersea networks.

His research focuses on modeling and simulations of photonic devices, coherent optical systems, and quantum optical applications. As the Technical Director at CUbiC, an SRC JUMP 2.0 center, Prof. Meng leads initiatives to expand undergraduate and high school participation in research, strengthening the talent pipeline for the US semiconductor industry.
