Vinay Chenna

Vinay Chenna is an incoming tenure-track assistant professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Columbia University. He received a B.Tech. degree in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras, Chennai, India, in 2019, and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California in 2026. His current research focuses on leveraging computational techniques and optimization algorithms to design high-performance RF and mm-Wave integrated circuits. He was a recipient of the USC ECE MHI Scholarship in 2026-27 (voluntarily declined), USC Annenberg Fellowship in 2019, and the USC IUSSTF-Viterbi summer research award in 2018. He has won the Best Student Paper Award - 1st Place at the IEEE Radio Frequency Integrated Circuits (RFIC) Symposium in 2025, the IEEE Solid-State Circuits Society (SSCS) Predoctoral Achievement Award in 2025-26, and the IEEE Microwave Theory and Techniques Society (MTT-S) Tom Brazil Graduate Fellowship in 2026
