Chong Li
Dr. Max (Chong) Li is an adjunct professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Columbia University (in the City of New York). He is the Founder & CEO of OORT, a decentralized AI company. He was a researcher at Qualcomm Research. He is also a Forbes contributor and the president of the Science & Technology Economic Committee at China-US Chamber of Commerce.
Dr. Li is a holder of 200+ International/US patents. He has been actively publishing academic papers in top-ranking journals. His paper “Youla Coding and Computation of Gaussian Feedback Capacity” was nominated for the 2019 IEEE Information Theory Society Paper Award. He has also served as a reviewer, committee, and co-chair for most prestigious journals and conferences in AI, communications, and control societies. Dr. Li is a grant review committee member of the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada. He is the author of the book "Reinforcement Learning for Cyber-physical Systems" (Taylor & Francis CRC Press).
Dr. Li has broad research interests including machine learning, distributed database and computing systems (e.g., blockchain), information theory, networked control and communication, and PYH/MAC systems design for advanced telecommunication technologies (5G and beyond).
