EE Hosts Music Information Meeting

January 25, 2007

On January 25th, the EE department hosted the first meeting of NEMISIG, the North East Music Information Special Information Group. More than 60 researchers from 15 institutions in the region, from Philadelphia to Montreal, participated in the one-day workshop that included presentations, posters, and break-out discussions including new applications of signal and information processing for managing collections of music audio, and approaches for bridging the divides between engineering, music, perceptual science, and other related disciplines. The main purpose of the event was to give everyone - especially students - a chance to meet and talk, and it was widely held to be a great success.
