Matt Calder is an engineer at Meta and an adjunct assistant professor at the Columbia University Data Science Institute and the Electrical Engineering department. He received his Ph.D. in computer science from the University of Southern California.
His research primarily focuses on Internet measurement and data-driven network systems on the Internet such as content delivery and traffic engineering. Before Meta, Matt worked on the Microsoft Azure CDN and then did a two-year stint in backbone capacity planning.
