Bio


Javad Ghaderi joined the Department of Electrical Engineering at Columbia University in July 2014. His research interests include network algorithms and network control and optimization. Dr. Ghaderi received his B.Sc. from the University of Tehran, Iran, in 2006, his M.Sc. from the University of Waterloo, Canada, in 2008, and his Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), in 2013, all in Electrical and Computer Engineering. He spent a one-year Simons Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Texas at Austin before joining Columbia.

Dr. Ghaderi is recipient of several awards including: Stephen S. Lavenberg Best Student Paper Award at IFIP Performance 2020, Best Paper Award at the IEEE INFOCOM 2020, NSF CAREER Award in 2017, Best Paper Award at the ACM CoNEXT 2016, NSF CRII Award in 2016, Best Student Paper Finalist at the American Control Conference (ACC) 2013, and Mac Van Valkenburg Graduate Research Award at UIUC, 2013. He is currently serving as an Associate Editor for IEEE/ACM Transactions on Networking.
