Nikola Tesla Electrical Engineering Scholar

Tesla Scholars

The Electrical Engineering Department extends special recognition to applicants to the graduate program who have a distinctly superior undergraduate academic record. Such students can be selected to be accorded the exceptional honor of being designated a Nikola Tesla Electrical Engineering Scholar. This honor is conferred upon only a very small number of only the most brilliant and exceptional applicants to the graduate program.

The scholar marks the designee as a member of an elite group of truly exceptional students. On their second and third semesters the scholars will have the opportunity to join the Tesla Leadership Circle program and to receive scholarship funds. The degree requirements remain the same and there are no special conditions for maintaining this honor; the designees have already earned it through their superb undergraduate academic record.

The department plans to have the Tesla Scholars meet with each other and with faculty members on several occasions, to promote social and intellectual interaction. There is particular interest in the Scholars' opinions of the academic program and of life on campus, so they will be invited to provide valuable feedback on all matters related to the School and their experience in the department.
