PODCAST: Adjunct Prof. Damian Sciano Shares his Insight on Accommodating Renewable Energy to Reach Clean Energy Goals

November 30, 2021

Providing customers and green energy developers with actionable data about the energy they use will lead to greener energy choices and enable the clean energy future envisioned by New York State’s Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act (CLCPA).  Correspondingly, New York State recently announced plans to develop a centralized, integrated energy data resource (IEDR) to enable this data sharing.

In his new role as Con Edison’s Director, Statewide Energy Data Integration, Damian Sciano discusses how Con Edison is already providing customers and third parties with data, how this will evolve over time and how it will be incorporated into the already sophisticated data and analytics of utility planning and operations.  Damian also discusses how customer privacy and cyber security are paramount to this endeavor. Damian has served as an Adjunct Professor at Columbia University in the Electrical Engineering department since 2018 where he teaches Power System Analysis.
