  1. I have not taken the pre-requisite courses EE4312 and EE4321 at Columbia. Can I still take the course?

    Yes, if you have the necessary experience and preparation. Take a look at the application form, there are several entries there to describe your experience that can replace those courses.

  2. I am scheduled to graduate at the end of the Spring semester. Can I still take the course?

    Yes, but we need to make arrangements for you to participate in testing your team's chip. Typically that means that you make a team that includes students who are not graduating in Spring.

  3. I am an undergraduate student but his course is listed as a 6000-level course. Can I still take the course?

    Yes, if you have the necessary preparation and get permission from your advisor and the instructor.

  4. When will I know if I am admitted to enroll in this course?

    The instructor in consultation with other faculty will review the students who have pre-registered for the course on the waitlist and who have filled out the application form. That review can only start in detail when the Fall course grades are available and typically concludes a week before the Spring semester starts. We will try to do it as soon as possible.

  5. Why do I have to fill out an application form for this course?

    There is a limited number of slots available in this course and the students need to be well prepared in order to be able to be successful in this lab course. The information on the application form will help the instructor and their colleagues in selecting the students that are best prepared.

  6. What questions are on the application form?

    You can simply open the form and review the questions. They are all on one page.

  7. When should I fill out the application form? What if I do not have all the required information yet?

    Fill out the form as soon as you can. As you get additional information, you can update your answers. You will receive a confirmation email from Google Forms after submitting the form. The email has a link to make changes to your application.
