> Current investor in Asesorseguros.com, car insurance aggregator > Current investor and board member of Celeromics, advanced bioinformatics (entrepreneur of the year in Spain) > Co-founder of Babalah (learn languages with native speakers and make friends) > Co-founder of Evidente (prediction markets for Latin America) > Defined strategy and wrote Business Plan of Tooio (later raised $2M) > Started Ubitrack with academics from MIT and won the MIT Business Plan Competition in 2008 ($30K). My cofounders decided they did not want to start the company and continue in academia. > One month full time internship at Care.com (Jan. 2008) > Started Linkpro (rental of prepaid mobile phones for tourists) in Madrid: after having the service ready, we pitched to various travel agencies and none bought the product > Started BOPPHY (broadband over powerlines) at Cambridge University, and won the 2005 Cambridge University Business Plan Competition, Price Waterhouse Coopers Business Plan competition, and Cambridge-MIT Institute Business Plan Competition. We filed one patent and had a term sheet from a top tier VC that my cofounders did not want to accept. > Started Tabarca Networks (security for WiFi networks) with Alberto Lopez to commercialize our own patent that we filed via Columbia University > Helped start Owlstone Nanotech with David
and Andrew; and after 2 months I decided to continue with my PhD |
