- Project Deadline Extended
- The project submission deadline is extended to Friday 5/7 at midnight.

- Review session on Wednesday, 5/5
- We'll have a review session on Wednesday May 5, from 3:000pm - 5:00pm in
Room 825 Mudd (our regular classroom).

- Make-up class on Friday, 4/16 [New schedule]
- We'll have a make-up class on Friday, April 16, from 9:30am - 11:45am, in
Room 833 Mudd (NOTE: Not our regular classroom).

- Screening of Waves plug-in demos [New schedule]
- Thursday, April 15, 6:15pm-7:15pm, Room 415 CEPSR. See the overall design
and functionality of leading signal processing plug-ins. For more information
about Waves, visit www.waves.com.

- Change of dates for Waves demo and make-up class
- Due to popular demand and to avoid attendance problems related to religious
activities this week (Passover/Easter), I decided to postpone the screening
of the Waves demos and the make-up class. The make-up class will now be on
4/16 9:30am-12noon in 833 Mudd. The details for the Waves demo will be announced
as soon as plans are finalized.

- Thursday, April 8, 6:15pm-7:15pm, Room 415 CEPSR. See the overall design
and functionality of leading signal processing plug-ins. For more information
about Waves, visit www.waves.com.
- Screening of the film "Modulations"
- Thursday, March 27, 6:15pm-7:15pm, Room 415 CEPSR. Modulations is a documentary
tracing the history of electronic music, from the people who first experimented
with tape recorders to the early electro dance scene (which fused hip-hop
and synthesizer music and brought it to the dancefloor) to today's audiovisual
sound sculptors.
- Changed office hours for 3/22/04: 1:30pm-3:30pm
- Office hours for the instructor for Monday, March 22 will be from 1:30pm
to 3:30pm.

- Project team assignments posted
- The project team assignments are posted (see the Projects
page). Make sure you check your assignment and let the instructor
now if any changes are needed. Note that there has been a 2nd revision already,
after the original email announcement was made.

- Project teams should be formed by 3/12
- Teams of about 5 people each should be formed by 3/12 in preparation for
starting the term projects. Each team should email the instructor the list
of members (one email per team please). People who don't manage to participate
in other teams will be assigned in a random way.

- MATLAB Tutorial on 3/4 @ 6:15pm in Room 415 CEPSR
- The TA will host a one-hour tutorial on MATLAB, in room 415 CEPSR from 6:15pm
to 7:15pm.
- No class on February 2/24
- We will have no class on 2/24 as I will be travelling. Note also that I
will not hold office hours on Monday 2/23 as well.

- Homework #1 postponed to 2/17
- As the "Total Recording" book is not yet available at the CU Bookstore,
the homework will be postponed one week to 2/17.

- Books in Engineering Library
- Both the required and reference books are on order by the Engineering Library
and should soon be available in the reserves. (You won't be able to check
them out during the semester, but you will be able to use them in the library.)

- MATLAB Tutorial on 2/5 @ 6pm
- The TA will host a one-hour tutorial-refresher on MATLAB. Attendance is
mandatory for those who have never used MATLAB.
Others who may want to refresh their memory on MATLAB's basic features are
welcome to join as well. The tutorial will be in our regular classroom 825
Mudd on Thursday February 5, from 6 to 7pm.
- Book availability
- The course textbooks should soon be available at the Columbia bookstore.
The "Total Recording" book is also available directly from the publisher,
KIQ Productions.
Note, however, that the bookstore copies will have some academic discount
which will not be available from the KIQ online ordering system.
- Kick-off message
- All registered students should have received the kick-off message of the
class mailing list. This message also includes login information to access
the site's password protected area. If you have not received this message,
please contact the instructor.
