Paper Survey of Sparse Coding and Related Issues

Sparse coding is a technology widely used in signal processing. It is becoming a hot topic in image and video analysis. For example, there are around 20 papers in CVPR 2010 related to sparse representation. As suggested by Prof. Chang, we will survey several papers on Friday, Sep 17 2010. Sparse coding and related issues, especially pooling methods for sparse coding, will be covered.

I would like to thank Prof. Chang and Wei in helping selecting the papers. For those who are not familiar with the basic rules of sparse coding, I suggest you to read the first paper and skim through the tutorial slides in “useful resources” first.
