Recommended Reference Textbooks
The following books are recommended for background material, practice
problems, ... (but not absolutely required):
- ISBN: 9780078028168, Franco, "Design with operational amplifiers
and analog integrated circuits," McGraw-Hill Education. This book
teaches from the perspective of designing analog systems using
existing integrated circuits; this will be part of the focus in the first half
of 4312.
- ISBN: 9780190853464, Sedra, Smith, Chan Carusone, and Gaudet,
"Microelectronic circuits," Oxford University Press. This is the
latest edition but earlier editions can be fine too. Many of you
likely already have this book from earlier classes. This book teaches
from the approach of designing at the transistor level, which will be
the focus in the second half of 4312.
This file gives
and overview of the sections of 'Sedra&Smith' that are typically
covered in 4312, as well as the pre-requisite knowledge required. Note
that this is subject to change and that the material will not be
covered in the same order as in the book.
