Sensing for Spectral Efficiency

Abstract

The increasing demand for throughput in mobile networks will have to be met in part from wider channel bandwidths, but also from higher spectrum efficiency.  Cellular spectrum efficiency has now touched about 2 - 3  bps/Hz/cell  and will need to rise 10 - 12 bps/Hz/cell in the next 10 years. This talks looks at potential technologies that can enable this growth.
