Columbia MSEE FAQ:
2.1 What are the specific requirements for the MS degree?

Answer by: dpwe - 2004-09-03

The details of the MS degree appear on page 134 of the SEAS Bulletin, available online here. These details are repeated on the department's MS program page.

The quickest way to review the requirements is to look at the Master of Science Degree Program Approval Form, which is the form you will eventually complete to apply for your MS degree. It has the following checkpoints (as of fall 2005):

Put briefly, you need to take about 10 courses (less of you take some of the 4.5 credit courses on offer), at least half must have numbers beginning with 6, at least half must be in EE or CS, and a third of the total credit must be from EE. And you must get a B- average, at least, on those courses.
