December 2006, EE to transfer mail to CUIT.
EE will be transferring its mail stores to CUIT mail services. We will continue to create EE email addresses but they will simply be aliases that deliver to each user's personal CUIT account. Please read the EE Mail Transfer Guide for more information.
September 2006, 1218 Mudd - Machine Names Changed.
We have renamed the machines in the 1218 Mudd VLSI Lab to vlsi1.cisl.columbia.edu through vlsi12.cisl.columbia.edu. We hope the name change will make it easier for everyone to connect the Mudd 1218 machines remotely.
September 20, 2004Unix Password Changing Fixed
We
have completed an overhaul of the authentication system for the EE
network. It is now possible for Unix users to change their passwords
remotely using yppasswd. We recommend that all users change their
passwords immediately in order to ensure that their accounts remain
secure.

Trouble Ticket System Installed
We
have successfully installed and tested a new trouble ticket system for
use by all computer users in the Electrical Engineering Department.
This system will allow us to improve the handling and resolution of EE

Using Remote X11 Sessions
Using Remote X11 Sessions
The
X11 protocol allows Unix applications that utilize a GUI to send their
graphical output to a remote system. This allows EE students to use
graphical Unix applications running on remote EE systems from the
convenience of their local workstations. Detailed instructions can be
