Copying files to and from 1218 and 1235 Mudd
1. Download winscp from http://winscp.net/eng/index.php and install it.
2. Start Winscp
In the upper-left-hand corner of the Windows XP desktop, double click on the icon labelled 'Winscp3'.
3. Configure Winscp3
Under the hostname field enter a host name. If you would like to connect to one of the machines in Mudd 1218 VLSI Lab, enter a host from vlsi1.cisl.columbia.edu to vlsi12.cisl.columbia.edu. If you would like to connect to one of the machines in 1235, enter a hostname between micro1.ilab.columbia.edu and micro15.ilab.columbia.edu. The port should be set to '22'. The username and password should be set to the values that were assigned to you in the email that you received in your CUNIX account labelled 'EE ACCOUNT INFO'. For the protocol setting check the 'SFTP (allow scp fallback)' radio button. Finally click 'login'.
3. Copying Files
After Winscp3 has finished starting up you will see the contents of your Linux home directory in the right pane and the 'My Documents' folder in the left pane. Navigate to the folder containing the files you would like to copy by clicking on the folder icons in the left pane. Once you have found your files, you can copy them to your Linux home directory by selecting them and dragging them to the right pane.
4. Closing Winscp3
Click the 'X' on the upper right hand corner of the Winscp3 window and click 'OK' when it asks if you would like to terminate the application.
