Research
Javad Lavaei works on various interdisciplinary problems in power systems, networks, communications, circuits, distributed computation and control. His current research is focused on the optimization techniques specialized for energy systems (e.g., smart grids) with the aim of solving hard nonconvex problems, such as the 50-year-old optimal power flow problem.
