Established in the Fall of 2012, the Electrical Engineering Ambassadors represent a cross-section of the promising Master’s and Doctoral candidate population at Columbia. The students are who participate in this exclusive group are nominated by faculty and then vetted before becoming members. While some are currently PhD candidates, many of them began as Master’s degree candidates.
Currently EE Ambassadors are highly active within the department’s Master’s program. They participate in admissions panels prior to application deadlines to provide potential students with much needed guidance and information regarding the unique opportunity of studying at Columbia University. In addition, Ambassadors are available to answer questions to admitted students before and after a student has accepted an offer.
The Electrical Engineering Department considers its Ambassadors as an exemplary group of students with the highest potential of future success upon completion of their program at Columbia. Their value is unequivocal as well to incoming Master’s students, proving a wealth of first-hand knowledge to the incoming classes of Columbia student life.
