Congratulations
to Ana and Shahram for winning the best student poster
presentations at the IBM Watson Workshop on Multimedia, held on June
20
2003. Ana's project on IMKA, constructing multimedia knowledge network,
was awarded the first prize. Shahram's work on echocardiogram video
indexing and summarization won the 2nd prize.
Great news
from DVMM alumnus, Dr. Ching-Yung Lin. His paper on
semi-fragile authentication watermarking published in IEEE TCSVT has
been selected to be the winner of the IEEE Circuits and Systems Society
2003 Young Author Paper Award.

has started his tenure-track faculty position at
Arizona State University, with Department of Computer Science and
Institute for Studies in the Arts. He is working on several fantastic
projects related to the Media and Arts Center.
