Professor Heinz Directs NSEC Center

Columbia University recently was awarded a five-year renewal of their NSF Funded Nanoscale Science and Engineering Center (NSEC) on electron transport in molecular nanostructures. Professor Heinz was recently appointed as Scientific Director, together with University Professor Ron Breslow from the Chemistry Department. The Center involves faculty from five departments in the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences and the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, as well as academic and corporate partners. Support from the National Science Foundation, the New York State Office of Science, Technology, and Academic Research, Columbia University, and Corporate sponsors for the program exceeds $10 million.
