Prof. Englund joins Multidisciplinary University Research Initiative to develop light-matter interfaces
Prof. Dirk Englund is joining colleagues at Georgia Tech, Harvard, Stanford, U. Madison, U. Michigan, and MIT in a Multidisciplinary University Research Initiative (MURI) program to develop multi-functional light-matterinterfaces based on neutral atoms and solids. Such interfaces are central for scaling systems for processing and communication of quantum information. This new effort, which is funded by the Air Force Office of Science and Research, begins in October 2011, and will provide $500,000 in funding
support for the research led by Prof. Englund.
