About Me ...

home

I am currently a Research Staff Member at IBM T J Watson Research Center and adjunct instructor for EE4830 Digital Image Processing in Spring 2007. I used to be a Ph.D. student in the DVMM|ADVENT group of Dept. of Electrical Engineering. I acquired my Columbia web presence in Fall 2000 after getting a B.S.EE in Tsinghua University, Beijing, China.

My research interest is in the general areas of signal processing, statistical learning and pattern recognition, and especially, applications in multimedia content analysis and video structure discovery.

Besides research, listening to music, taking pictures, and a bit of instrument playing easily eats up most of my spare time. Note: watching soccer games, films, and any kind of interesting video is considered inside research! :)
